The community of Sandstone is bordered by 14th Street to the west, Beddington Trail to the east, Berkshire Boulevard to the south and Country Hills Boulevard to the north. Homes in the area (number 2,120 as of 2012) range in price from $300,000 to $600,000 approximately. The community was founded in 1982 and has a population, as of 2012, of 6,253.

Bus routes 3 and 46 serve the community of Sandstone.

Parks & Recreation
Sandstone Park is located in the middle of the community and it features ample green space as well as a baseball field. Recreational spaces abound however outside the community and just a few include the following: Golf Town, The Hamptons Golf Club, Citadel Park, Hawkcliff Park, Edgebrook Park, Hidden Ranch Park, Sandstone Park, Beacham Park, Country Hills Park, Harvest Hills Park, the Nose Creek Parkway and the Nosehill Spring Park. Shopping around Sandstone includes the Deerfoot Mall, the Northland Village Shopping Centre, Creekside Shopping Centre, Reitman's and the Beddington Town Centre.
