Established in 1973, Cedarbrae is a community with a population of 6,237 which represents a rare decline in 2012 from the previous year. The boundaries of Cedarbrae are as follows: Southland Drive to the north, Anderson Road to the south, 24 Street to the east and 37 Street to the west.

Cedarbrae is served by bus route 84 which moves from Palliser to Oakfield Drive and back around. The nearest terminal is Southland.

Parks & Recreation
Oakfield Park is located in the southwest corner of Cedarbrae. Across 24 Street SW is Braeside Park and just northeast is Tom Brook Athletic Park. The nearest shopping center is the Oakridge Co-Op Shopping Centre. The Cedarbrae community, and others around it like Braeside, Oakridge and Palliser form a highly residential space. Shopping is largely relegated to the east side of Macleod Trail, where the Southcentre Mall is located.
