Douglasglen - SE Calgary Real Estate

Established in 1986 and located off Deerfoot Trail, the community of Douglasglen is affluent and quaint, with home prices ranging from approximately $500,000 to $2,000,000. The 2011 population was 2,317 persons living in just over 1,000 townhouses, single-family homes and condominiums.

Douglasglen is part of the Golden Triangle of real estate in Calgary. To the west it borders the Bow River and neighboring pathways, making the location ideal for anyone wanting to live close to the river without the worry of flooding. Residents will find at the entrance to the community a tennis court, playground and extensive green space off which shoot tree-lined pathways perfect for strolling through the community.

Transit

Parks & Recreation
The community of Douglasglen has a nice green area in its center complete with playground and tennis courts, but for those looking for more Sue Higgins Park to the north and Douglasbank Park to the south deliver. Sue Higgins, first of all, has the largest fenced-in off-leash space in Calgary, so it's perfect for dogs. Rounding out the area are inland marshes, the banks of the Bow River, an island and flood plain.

Several shops are located just outside the Douglasglen community, including Starbucks and the Douglas Square Shopping Centre. Also located nearby are three movie theaters: Landmark Cinemas 10 Shawnessy, Canyon Meadows Cinemas and Scotiabank Theatre Chinook.
