Located on the Glenmore Reservoir, the community of Bayview was established in 1967 to define luxury. The majority of the community consists of large custom-built homes, but there is a northwest portion called Bay Pointe that consists of condominiums. All in all only 682 dwellings comprise the community, making it one of the smallest and most exclusive in Calgary. Home prices range from approximately $1,000,000 to $3,000,000. In 2012 the population of Bayview was 682.

Transit
The LRT line runs shortly to the east of Bayview.

Parks & Recreation
There are no parks in the community, but there is a large portion of walking path and general green space along the Glenmore Reservoir. Due to the affluence of the community, boats are a popular form of recreation with many docked on the reservoir just outside the community. The South Glenmore Park neighbors the community to the west as well.

Located within the community is Market Square Fine Foods. Located just outside the community is Michelle's Floral Boutique and Ducks Fashion. The surrounding communities are not very populated with retail and service stores.
