The borders of Banff Trail include Crowchild Trail to the west, 19th Street to the east, 16th street to the south and Canmore Avenue to the north. As of 2012 the population of the community was 3,837 persons. Home prices range from $300,000 to $900,000 approximately, with nearly 2,000 residences located within the community.

Transit
The CTrain serves the community via the Banff Trail station.

Parks & Recreation
Within the community is Banff Trail Park, featuring one softball/baseball field, a seasonal ice skating rink and plenty of green space in which to play sports. Many other parks are located in the area including Saint Andrews Park, Green Park, Parkdale United, Canmore Park and Riley Park.

The nearest shopping hub is the North Hills Centre, featuring over 100 shops and services such as Pearle Vision, FanAttic, Aldila Boutique, Hair Mix, Raydiance Suntan Studio, Mark's, Le Chateau, Reitmans, Intersport and much more.
