Elbow Park is bordered by 14th Street W to the west, Council Way to the north, Elbow Drive to the east and the Elbow River to the east and south. Developed in 1910 the community is one of the oldest in the entire city. In 2012 the population was 3,377. The community is made up of approximately 1,221 residences ranging in price from $400,000 to $5,000,000.

Parks & Recreation
Although the name of the community refers to the park within it, there are larger parks on either side of the community -- Stanley Park to the east and River Park to the west. River Park features a "park within a park" and Stanley Park features lawn bowling, outdoor swimming, fishing/canoe/raft access, water fountains, washrooms, a toboggan hill, picnic areas and BBQ stands, pathways, playground areas, tennis courts and a sports field. Some areas are still damaged however from recent flooding.

Many stores surround the community of Elbow Park, including Armani Exchange, Paceys, Red Nik Surf Co, Changes, A Special Place, Purr, Blame Betty, the CORE Shopping Centre, Hudson's Bay Calgary Downtown, Le Chateau and more.
