A garden-to-table community
Rangeview is built around “agricultural urbanism,” a first for Calgary. Woven through the neighbourhood are shared and private gardens, vegetable and kitchen plots, orchards and a central market-garden space, alongside public squares, a greenbelt and a natural wetland. The idea is simple: residents grow, harvest and gather together, and the community is designed to make that part of daily life rather than an afterthought.
The Rangeview Homeowners Association maintains the gardens, parks and gathering spaces and runs the programming that keeps the community social through the seasons. When it is complete, Rangeview is planned to be home to roughly 3,000 families — but its garden-centred design is meant to keep it feeling connected as it grows.
Schools
As a newer community, Rangeview’s students are currently designated to schools in the surrounding established neighbourhoods — the Seton and Auburn Bay area, including Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School for older students — while in-community school sites are planned for future phases. Designations in growing areas change frequently, so always confirm the current boundaries with the public and Catholic boards.
Location and commute
Rangeview sits in Calgary’s deep southeast, tucked beside the established communities of Mahogany, Seton and Auburn Bay. That location is a real advantage: the South Health Campus hospital, the world-class Seton YMCA, the Calgary Public Library and a Cineplex cinema are all just minutes away. Stoney Trail and Deerfoot Trail give quick access across the city, with the downtown commute typically in the 30 to 40 minute range.
The Rangeview market
Rangeview is a brand-new community, so the market is weighted toward new construction — laned and front-garage single-family homes, duplexes and townhomes from a roster of Calgary builders, with more housing types arriving as the community builds out. That makes it a strong option for buyers who want a new home with a distinctive lifestyle. Inventory and price points shift quickly in a community this young — ask me for the latest CREB® price bands before you start your search.
