The clubhouse and the Athletic Park
The New Brighton Club, run by the residents association, is the centrepiece. Outside you’ll find a splash park, playground, hockey rink, tennis courts, basketball court and beach volleyball; inside, fitness classes, kids’ programs and rentable event space keep things busy through the winter. The annual fee is modest for what residents get back.
Along the community’s northern edge sits New Brighton Athletic Park, a City of Calgary facility with multiple sports fields, a baseball diamond, playgrounds and a skatepark. Add a web of pathways and ponds threading through the neighbourhood, and it’s easy to see why active families gravitate here.
Schools
New Brighton scores well on schools. New Brighton School handles public elementary students, Dr. Martha Cohen School covers the public middle years, and St. Marguerite School gives Catholic families an elementary option — all inside the community. High school students are typically designated to Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School in nearby Seton. As always, confirm the current boundaries with the boards, especially for newer phases.
Location and commute
New Brighton sits just south of 130th Avenue, which means the southeast’s biggest shopping and dining corridor is essentially in your front yard. Deerfoot Trail and Stoney Trail are both minutes away, so the downtown commute usually lands in the 25 to 35 minute range, and the rest of the city is an easy drive via the ring road. The South Health Campus hospital in Seton is roughly ten minutes away as well.
The New Brighton market
Pricing in New Brighton sits a notch above neighbouring Copperfield, reflecting the clubhouse amenities. The community spans condos and townhomes through detached family homes up to executive properties, so there’s a fit for first-time buyers and move-up families alike. It’s a steady, dependable market with strong family demand — ask me for the latest CREB® price bands before you start your search.
